PDX opened in June of 1996. Gallery owner Jane Beebe, who has nearly two decades of experience in the field of art, shows work that, as she puts it, “has a slight conceptual edge. It is personal work which is both intellectually and visually satisfying.” The artists PDX represents include many who exhibited at Jamison/Thomas Gallery, Portland and New York, which closed after William Jamison’s death in 1995. Beebe’s high standards have won praise from critics, viewers and artists alike. PDX is housed in a small and beautiful space designed by the award-winning architectural firm, Allied Works Studio. The gallery participates in art fairs and advertises in national publications.
