In October 1981 Storables opened our first store in the Beaverton Town Square Shopping Center, just outside Portland Oregon. We’ve since expanded to include stores in the Seattle Washington area and San Jose California. From the beginning, our founder and president Dodd Fischer was interested in opening a home store. He was drawn to contemporary design and intrigued by the emerging business of ready-to-assemble furniture. The buyers at Storables looked high and low for functional, utilitarian design and clever novelties. From the beginning we sold ventilated shelving and wire basket systems for custom closets. Over the years our stores have grown and our merchandise selection has become more focused on storage and organization for the home and office. Our customers have lead the way by challenging us to find creative solutions to make life simpler. Working with our sales associates in the spirit of innovation, our customers continue to tame the wild corners of their lives.
